I recently made the purchase of the Westin EXP topper for my Chevy Colorado. I was a bit hesitant to pull the trigger with the lack of reviews and first hand feedback available.
I called the Recon Recovery team to ask a few questions and they eased my mind. Amazing customer service!
I received the topper with no issues on a pallet. Shipping took 6 days to Boise, ID
Everything I needed was included in the boxes and the topper was well packed and secured.
Building the topper took about 2 hours and was really straightforward. Westin has a great install video that made the process even easier with the directions that were included.
I’m really impressed with the quality and believe it will hold up for years to come. The finish looks durable and the hardware included is solid.
It took two of us to install it on the truck and lock it into place. This topper is a bit heavier than ones I’ve had in the past but I think the extra weight is worth it for the quality.
I’m mounting an FSR Odyssey RTT to the topper to complete it. I’m not worried at all about it holding that weight. It’s a solid unit.
Attached are a few pictures without the tent for reference. I’ll update this review once I have some miles on it. But for a first impression I’m very pleased and don’t regret the purchase.
