UltraHook Winch Hook Shackle Mount

Featuring Industry first Closed System Shackle Mount hole machined into the body of the hook, safety latch retraction pocket resulting in a clear throat opening, integrated secondary safety latch locking feature-latch locking pin stored in the body of the UltraHook which can be removed and inserted in to the hook tip, locking the latch into place. EPDM rubber pads for fairlead protection, titanium double shear pin, and a finger grip feature that promotes proper “Hook Up” orientation. The first winch hook that can be stored against your fairlead protecting either your hawse or roller style fairlead from a metal to metal connection.

Eliminate the conventional winch hook and replace it with a safer and stronger FlatLink shackle thimble and D-ring. The FlatLink shackle mount is the Industry’s first folding shackle mount for recovery winches. With less than 1.75 inches of thickness, the Flatlink will work with all roller fairlead license plate mounting brackets.

Very good product

This for me is an all in one. Most of my buddies use the Expert (even thought they are not). I like the idea of having a hook for easy attachment to shackles soft or hard. You can also bolt up a shackle directly through the hook for multi line pulls. I gave this a 1 star because it's not a value for the money, It is the premium and you pay a premium for RATED recovery gear. Factor55 uses a C-Clip that needs to be removed and replaced to slide the shear pin to install the rope. It's not difficult but it's also not a quick disconnect soooo, I rated it a 3 star for "easy to install" Remember, you wouldn't want it any other way though. Factor55 has the engineering and research behind why they build it they way they do.

The winch hook makes a high quality impression. Very good workmanship and great handling! I am already looking forward to the first real use in the field.

Just what I needed

I kind of wish I had gotten the red one, as this one doesn't really match my Jeep, but I think the red one probably would have turned pink by now, so I'm still glad I didn't.

Well made

This is my second Factor 55 Ultra Hook. One is on my Jeep , and this one will go on my Power Wagon. I have been using winches on multiple vehicles, (including UTVs) for many , many years. They are the best tools to have and it seems the hooks have always been cheapo and dangerous, even with beefed up winches. THESE Factor 55 hooks are BEEFY! They are also a gorgeous work of art. I Love the detent pin to lock the hook gate. I really love how they are designed to hold and use in the "Hook Up" orientation... good move by those guys. You can snug the hook up against the fairlead instead of putting a common side bend on the cable during stowage like we've all done for years! I do have a few large 7/8” bow shackles where the 1” pin won't fit into the closed system hole, but then I do just use the hook throat in that case. No biggie. These are WORTH EVERY PENNY.
