While I’m happy and impressed with these boards, they were lacking good instructions. I chose these boards because they were one of the few that offered three brackets per board and I felt that would offer more stability. Before ordering I asked if the instructions show how to wire it up to the hybrid tundra trucks as they don’t put the battery under the hood, rather it’s located under the rear seats inside the truck. They referred me to contact rough country to ask them that. I called them and they said they don’t have specific instructions for that, despite that I still ordered them hoping it wouldn’t be too hard to figure out. I got the steps but they’re in two boxes and for some reason, even though they were shipped together they arrived on two separate days. The instructions spell out what tools I need, and what’s crazy is that it says I need a 13mm socket, when I got all the tools together I ended up needing a 10mm socket instead. There was nothing in there that required the 13mm that they asked for. Even the stock bolts are 12mm, so I don’t know why the instructions say that. After all the laying out the wire harness to figure out where things go, I determined that there is a plug under the driver seat that was perfect for running the on/off button as well as all the other wires required to pull into the truck. From there I was able to run the battery wires to the back seats inside through the kick panels. Basically I had to swap the sides of the harness to make it work and luckily the motor plugs weren’t side specific, so swapping the sides of the harness didn’t change anything performance-wise, it just allowed me to install it correctly.
