FAQ

• Does this fit my 2020-2027 Silverado/Sierra 1500? No. The 1500 uses a different bed geometry. Use SKU 70100008 (2019-2027 GM 1500 5.8ft bed) or 70100038 (2019-2027 GM 1500 6.6ft bed).
• Does this fit my 2020-2027 HD Long Bed (8ft)? No. The 8ft Long Bed HD requires a different cap SKU — contact OVS for Long Bed availability.
• Does this fit my Carbon Pro Edition Silverado HD? No. GM Carbon Pro Edition trucks use a carbon fiber bed with different mounting geometry that this cap cannot accommodate.
• Does this fit my Duramax diesel? Yes. The Duramax 6.6L L5P (gas-only engines too) doesn’t affect bed cap fitment. All HD powertrains are compatible.
• Does this fit my Dually (DRW) truck? Yes. SRW and DRW HD trucks share the same bed geometry — the cap fits both.
• Does this fit my AT4 / Denali / Denali Ultimate? Yes — provided the truck is NOT a Carbon Pro Edition. Verify your bed is standard steel.
• Will this work with a 5th wheel hitch installed? Verify with OVS before ordering. The cap may need to be removed when towing with a 5th wheel, or the hitch install may interfere. Gooseneck hitches typically work with the cap in place for traveling (not for towing).
• How long does installation take? 1-2 hours with two people (verified customer review). The HD cap is heavier than mid-size caps, so plan for 4 people to safely lift the cap onto the bed. One verified customer: “It is heavier compared to other competitors so you will need at least 4 people to get this on the bed.”
• Do I need to drill my truck? No drilling required for the HD Silverado/Sierra 2500/3500 application. Factory clamping system holds the cap in place.

• Can I mount a rooftop tent on top? Yes. The integrated roof rails + OVS crossbars (sold separately) support RTT mounting. Compatible with OVS Bushveld II, Nomadic, Mamba, HD/XD series RTTs, as well as iKamper, Inspired Overland Trailpeak/Carbonlite, Smittybilt, Thule Tepui, and most other RTT brands.
• What’s the glass covered by warranty? Glass is NOT covered under the Limited Lifetime Warranty. The cap structure, powder coat, hardware, and components are covered — the tempered safety glass is excluded (standard industry practice).
• Is this waterproof? Highly water-resistant with the 3M bulb seal + butyl tape sealing system. OVS notes “no truck bed can be completely waterproof or airtight” — some minimal water intrusion may occur around the tailgate perimeter in extreme conditions.
• Can I open the cap from inside? Not currently. OVS notes they’re developing internal latch options, but this feature is not yet available.
• Does the rear window near the cab have a slider or pass-through? No. The current design includes a fixed front window and does not offer drop-down or pass-through access to the cab.
• What’s the shipping like? FREE LTL freight shipping with lift gate truck delivery in the Continental 48. Usually ships within 24 hours. Estimated delivery 7-10 business days.
• What about the Expedition Pro+ version? OVS offers an Expedition Pro+ (SKU 70200029) with upgraded features (full MOLLE panels, premium hardware, additional components) at a higher price point. The base Expedition (70100029) is the value tier; Pro+ is the premium tier.
