The Deluxe Awning room features a durable waterproof floor and its own separate ceiling, enhancing insulation from the sun. All 4-wall panels incorporate zipper operated access doors. The rear wall, located towards the vehicle, can be unzipped to provide access to the vehicle. The mesh pocket organize can be located on the right or left of the rear panel to house your magazines or personal items, helping everything have its place. Two zippered ports located in the top corners allow for power cable access and power cord guides are incorporated into the roof corners to keep cables tidy and safe. The 3 exterior walls are dual layers, featuring solid external panels, which can be zipped closed for protection and privacy or rolled up to reveal the internal mesh panels. The D shaped front mesh panel can be fully opened to reveal the natural setting while the side mesh incorporates zippers in the middle and base to accommodate entry and exit of the room.
Quick arrival. Tarp seams appear to be waterproofed. Assembled by one person in less than 20 minutes. Easy-to-follow directions sewn to the inside of the storage bag. Buckles that contact the vehicles paint have a protective pad. Taking it out for the maiden camping trip later this month.
Fits fairly well . Assembled, the tent is large enough to stand up in so there's plenty of room. Two large closeable screen windows on either side and a large screened door with privacy/rain flap. There is a vent flap on the roof and with the sides opened halfway there is good ventilation. I use an air mattress with flaps for the wheel wells. The tent is standard nylon tent fabric which is thin so watch for sharp corners in your truck bed. The instructions are a little confusing, particularly about where the base of the pole that holds up the vestibule should be placed but it will make sense when you see it.
Really easy to assemble. I'm short (5'1") so it was helpful that I had help getting it into the truck, but could have done it by myself if I had to. The most difficult part was the straps around the tail gate. You had to maneuver the gate lifting it to get the straps below and clip. Make sure you don't tighten too much or it will cause strain on the door zipper and could easily break. Don't force it open, just adjust the tension and straps before you try forcing it. It did rain one night, no water came in. The rain top was on. The vents were perfect. I have a 2020 Silverado. A full size air mattress fit perfectly between the wheel wells of you don't want to buy a specialty air mattress. A little stool or step ladder is ideal for ease of getting in and out. I did feel safer (and dryer) being off the ground and in the truck bed, I would definitely recommend this tent!
I bought this tent in Spring of 2022 and have used it twice so far on my 2022. Set up is kind of a pain but doable by yourself. I chose this tent as it has a bottom to the tent whereas the other name brand one just go over your truck bed with the bottom being the bed. My tonal cover doesn't completely prevent dust and water from entering so having a tent with a bottom was important to me. Speaking of which, I'm also able to use this tent with my tonal cover rolled up towards the back which is important. Overall, great tent and I look forward to using it more next year.
This tent is awesome. It’s easy to put together on the truck & it’s size is fantastically large. A 5’4” individual can stand upright inside! The only mentionable characteristic may be that a queen air mattress can not fit through the opening after being blown up. The queen mattress, though, will fit nicely inside the tent & between the tires if blown up after placing it inside.
